Endosonography is a specific method of endoscopic ultrasonography and the examination is performed endoscopically by using endoscopic instruments that have an ultrasonographic device on the top. The examination allows better visualization of certain organs and better diagnosis of specific pathological conditions
Examinations:
- UpperGI endosonography – examination of the esophagus, stomach, duodenum, pancreas, region of papillae Vateri, and other surrounding anatomical structures
- LowerGI endosonography – examination of the rectum and surrounding peri-rectal structures
